Competing against some of Europe’s strongest water polo nations, Lily and her GB teammates delivered a fantastic performance on the European stage.

Reflecting on the experience, Lily said:

“I’m incredibly proud of what we achieved, especially as it was my first time competing at this level. It was nerve-racking at times, but I had so much support from my teammates and the people around us.”

The tournament also gave Lily the opportunity to build friendships beyond the pool.

“I made friends who I know will be part of my life for a very long time—people I would never have had the chance to meet without water polo. That made the whole experience even more special.”

Finishing among Europe’s top eight has given the team plenty of confidence for the future.

“Finishing eighth has shown us what we’re capable of and has made the possibility of reaching the World Championships feel much more real. I’m already looking forward to the 2008 age-group competition and seeing what we can achieve next, so keep an eye out for us!”

Well done, Lily, on representing Great Britain, and congratulations to the whole GB U20 Women’s team on a great achievement!
