Huge congratulations to our U17 girls squad who completed a remarkable journey over three tournaments to earn bronze in the 2026 U17 National Age Group Championship tournament, the highest level of club competition in the UK.

Following a clean sweep of wins against Caledonia, Otter and Coventry in the preliminary round, the girls also secured victories against City of Bristol and City of Manchester in the qualification round to qualify for the final four at the beginning of May.

A narrow loss to Liverpool, last year's champions, set up a bronze medal match against Cheltenham. A nail-biting game finished 12-12 in normal time, and with the scores tied at 16-16 after the 1st five penalties, sudden death then ensued with Beckenham eventually prevailing 20-19.

This is an extraordinary achievement for Beckenham, in particular in the context of the other finalists all being British Water Polo League Division 1 clubs, and testament to the dedication and hard work of players, coaches and volunteers.

"I'm incredibly proud of the girls - who they are and what they've achieved. I'm so proud of our club, and this medal means everything to everyone involved at Beckenham. The journey they've been on, and what they've had to overcome to get here, makes it even more special. This is also a reflection of all the work done across the club - the volunteers, parents, and junior coaches who have played such a big part in getting them to this point. And the most exciting part is that this group is still so young - the future is very bright"
