We entered the game knowing we needed at least a draw to avoid relegation from the premier league with Croydon surprisingly beating Penguin the night before.

We had a terrible start to the match conceding a goal within seconds after a mid pool misunderstanding. The first quarter continued in a similar vein with us conceding a couple more cheap goals. Perhaps the nerves were showing we were certainly not playing our best polo.

Otter continued to control the game in the second and led 9-3 at half time. At this point it seemed we were destined to division 1 next season and the long away trips that entails. From here on it seemed that we just needed to play for pride and try to win the second half.

In the third period we conceded a very unlucky goal at the start of the period to go 3-10 down but started to slowly exert some control in defence and whilst our man down continued to be poor we picked up two goals from outside shots to win the quarter 2-1.

In the fourth quarter we for the first time started to press with the intensity required and forced a few turnovers which lead to quick goals and panic amongst the otter team. We scored seven unanswered goals which incredible put us 13-11 up with a minute to go. Unfortunately we couldn't keep up the intensity of the press and allowed otter two goals to come back to 13-13 but we knew this was enough and settled for the draw. A

A unlikely comeback that shows what we are capable of when we focus and put the required effort in. Otter have one game to go but it seems four teams we finish the league within three points of each other showing just how competitive the league is.
